Track sorting on multi-disc albums
« on: June 08, 2009, 10:22:37 AM »

I have a bunch of albums that are more than one disc. Is there a way to sort them so it plays all of disc 1 and then all of disc 2? At the moment it plays track 1 of disc 1 and then track 1 of disc 2 and so on.

By default, songs are sorted first by Artist, then by Album and then by Track number. So you would need to split the album in two, appending something like (disk 1) and (disk 2) to the album names.

Thanks for the quick response. For the record, this software is great. I set it up over the weekend after reading about it on lifehacker and I am now listening to my music at work. Could not be any easier.

So, that's kind of a problem. A lot of people don't like multiple discs from the same release taking up space and cluttering the collection. I just went through all my Phish shows and condensed them to 1 album each, making the disc number represent the set. iTunes/iPods sort this correctly and plays in the right order, and it works well. I'm sure other players would too, it's just standard ID3 data. It would be great to allow sorting in this manner on Pulptunes.
