User Management
« on: June 07, 2009, 05:34:15 PM »

I seem to have everything installed but don't seem to have the option to access user management functions.

Not sure what I am missing but any help would be cool

User management is disabled by default. After you start pulpTunes, right-click on the orange in the task tray (menu bar if you're in Mac), and select "user management". Then tick "Enable User Management" and fill in the credentials for the admin user. Then the pulpTunes webpage will show a new link on top to log-in. After logging-in as admin, you'll have yet another link "user management" that'll give you access to the groups and users management section.

Cheers

nevermind...figured it out..

did sh ./pt_linux.sh -help

then did it with "-create_superadmin"

then finally:
sh ./pt_linux.sh -xml_location /volume1/music/iTunes/iTunes Music Library.xml -user_management_enabled

I had to alter the shell script to include -Xnojit, and could not get "-background" to work so i just did ctrl+z and then the 'bg' command.

I am running it on a NAS btw - Synology DS209j.

Ok cool. What made you try the Xnojit switch?

I googled for a solution to my error message and saw someone said it worked when they didn't use JIT. I only slightly knowledgeable with java an compiling, So i don't know why I am doing it, just know that it works.

Oh ok, the NAS must not have a standard Sun JVM. Hey make sure you open a real account here in the forums ;)
