Wake on LAN Support?
« on: May 24, 2011, 11:22:31 PM »

I'm not sure if this issue even relates to Pulp Tunes itself, mind as well rule it out though.

I'm running PT on a Mac (10.6 Snow Leopard) with "Wake for ethernet network access" enabled in my system prefs. I know wake for LAN on my mac works, as with some third party apps it will wake fine (I can access an IP address and port of an app such as the web interface of Transmission lets say, and it will wake up fine.)

However with Pulp Tunes, it never wakes. I'm sure my airport configuration is fine (and anyways, it configures itself now in this version, yes?)

Am I missing something here, does the app have to support Wake on LAN, or are my settings goofed?

Update: After a bit of searching around I discovered that pulp tunes isn't continually advertising with Bonjour. This being said, it looks as if I won't be getting Wake on LAN working anytime soon..

I used a Bonjour services browser, pulp tunes is of course not one of the services listed. I then proceeded to attempt to make a new port mapping from within my router, and select "Advertise globally using Bonjour," of course it uses the routers ethernet ID instead of the computer's ethernet ID that I'm attempting to wake up. Fail. So I gave up, guess pulp tunes itself will have to advertise to list the correct MAC address..

Oh well :(
