add download ability to user management?

Any chance a future version will include the ability to allow or disallow downloads as part of the user management group settings?

Sounds like a good idea, and it shouldn't be difficult to implement. I'll take it into account for the next version. However note that if we even enforce that restriction, there's no way to prevent a sneaky user to get around it by crafting a request identical to the one the flash player issues to stream a song. Wouldn't be safe to keep secrets of state, but still useful ;)

totally. for my needs, it's mainly a way to discourage friends from simply downloading, and encourage them to just play, listen and enjoy. Thanks for the consideration of the feature!

This is a make or break feature for me.  As of now I'm using the software for testing but if I was able to disable the download feature through permissions I would start to give out the link to my server.  I wouldn't be giving out my server IP to sneaky users but I can forsee a backlash from the community if the feature is released with security holes and it is not publicly stated.

Thank you, great product so far.   :)
