Podcasts should be last
« on: April 28, 2009, 08:42:15 PM »

When I fire up PulpTunes, it immediately lays out all my songs, beginning with whatever podcasts I have in iTunes.

I don't want podcasts to be first. I want podcasts to be last. I want my MUSIC to be first. This way, I don't have to worry about the inability to read a podcast that hasn't been updated in a while. I immediately gain access to ACDC or ABBA or ALKATRAZ or whatever "A" band shows up.

Question 1: Will you please change this?
Question 2: Is it possible for me to change it today (without having to delete all my podcasts?)

The first page starts with songs from the entire music library, shown in a random order. If you restart your pulpTunes server, you should see different songs at the beginning.

So I don't see how what you describe could happen in the current stable and beta versions, but it turns out it can happen in the upcoming version 1.1 RC1, where playlists are sorted by default by artist and then by album. Are you maybe using the development snapshot? If that's the case, know that in a few days I'll commit the ability to filter out playlists, which you could use as a workaround, for example by creating a smart playlist containing old podcasts, and filtering out that playlist...

Let me know if a simple restart fixes your problem, or if not, what version you're on and how does your setup (OS, java version, etc) looks like.

Cheers

I thought I was on the stable. I'll recheck. I've done several restarts and the same thing happens every time.

The filters on the upcoming dev release sound like they'll address my issues.

Thanks for the response. The current work around is to delete all podcasts.

(I'm on Windows Vista 64)
