Author Topic: Two Questions: Broadcast What's Playing / Problem Connecting  (Read 183 times)

I have two questions, and I hope I can get some help.

One:
I believe I've got pulpTunes set up correctly; however, I can't access it through the Internet.  I can access it fine through my local network.  The connections dialog is showing how to connect, and it's not saying anything about configuring the router like it did at first.  I've opened a program to determine if the port is even open, and it's open, but it's not connecting.  What could be the problem?  Oh, I'm using port 15000, the default.  I hear the problem could be a bug with the software.

Two:
Is it possible to just listen to what's currently playing through iTunes?  I just want to have a friend listen to what's playing.

One: if you can access it from another computer in your local network, then the program is working fine and it's listening to connections. Not being able to access it from outside your local network is completely up to the router, to forward incoming requests to port 1500 to the local ip of the computer where pulpTunes is installed. pulpTunes tries to automatically configure this port forwarding, but it's not possible in all cases. You'll need to go to your router's configuration interface, and manually set up the port forwarding.

Two: Not possible.
