Next song won't play in browser tabs

I have noticed that if I am running PulpTunes and open a new browser tab that PulpTunes won't automatically play the next song. As soon as I switch tabs back to PulpTunes the next song will start. I can have it run in a separate browser window and everything works fine so it is not a huge deal. I just like to use tabs to keep things clean. This is with 1.2 beta 2, but has been happening for a while now. I am using Safari 4.0.4.

It plays fine for me on the same version. What OS are you using? ???

Unfortunately, I could reproduce it :( Looks like it's a safari feature to stop processing some sort of events when not in focus... I'll see if there's a workaround, although I doubt it. R0tten, are you in Snow Leopard and safari 4.0.4 (latest) as well?

Nope, I had safari (latest) on my work laptop under windows xp pro. I couldn't reproduce it, so it may be something with the mac environment..

It's even worse here. When pulTunes is playing and I start browsing other pages or going to another app on the Mac, the music sometimes stops playing after the current song. Running 1.2.0b2

I've had the same issue in Firefox a couple of times, however it seems it's dependent on how many tabs I have open. Maybe it has to do with the memory usage, where the browser starts hitting a limit and instead of dieing just starts pausing actions that are not within range.

Yeah I am still getting this in beta 3. I don't think it is a memory usage issue. I can have two tabs open but as long as PulpTunes is not the active tab it wont play the next song.

To add to the confusion it seems like I am occasionally getting two instances of a song playing at the same time. So basically instead of stopping at the end of a song before I open the tab PulpTunes will play the next song normally... But when I do switch over to the PulpTunes window it starts playing again and plays two songs at the same time. Pausing the player will stop one instance but I can't get the music to stop entirely until I close the window/tab. This has been happening in the past two versions, but only frequently with beta 3.
