Enhancement - How To add a feature
« on: October 26, 2010, 06:34:15 AM »

Hi,

I just found out about plupTunes and have been using it for a few weeks.  It is excellent!  I've already modified the template and wrote my own build script that will pull-in my changes and 're-build' the JAR files to include my updates.

In my solution, I deploy pulpTunes on a openSuSE linux VM (running on VirtualBox).  My music files are on a networked attached storage drive and updates to the iTunes Music Library.xml file is copied to the VM when ever it is changed.

Rather than edit the xml file, I would like to enhance pulpTunes to allow the user to configure a 'path replacement' field that will replace the file://...../ entry in the xml file on-the-fly.  This way, i will not have to post-process the xml file before it can be used.

How do I get access to the .java source code to make this change?  Or ... is this only done by select members of the project team and if so ... how do I make an enhancement request?

Thanks,
Joe

bump ... anyone have any thoughts on how enhancement requests are handled or supported?

Is there some way where someone can contribute or is there only a select group that does enhancements?

Would love to know.

Thanks,
Joe
