Covers don't appear
« on: October 07, 2009, 03:59:42 AM »

Hi,

All of my songs in my iTunes library had a link to his cover but a lot of them (covers) don't appear in pulpTunes!!!
Do you know what?

Thanks

Only the songs whose art is embedded in the mp3 or m4a file itself are shown.

Cheers,
Alejandro

Yup. If you fetched them using the iTunes store, iTunes stores them outside the file for performance reasons, and doesn't bother to embed them :(

Am I right in saying that the album art is embedded in the file when the file icon represents it? If so, I'm afraid the problem is more complicated. I have several files with icons that show the cover art, but the cover art does not appear in pulpTunes. How come ?

If you mean the icon when showing the file in iTunes, then it doesn't necessarily mean it's embedded. If you mean an icon somewhere else, can you explain me where that is?

Cheers

I mean the file that appears when you right-click on an song in iTunes and choose "Show in Finder".

Oh I didn't know finder did that (I'm still on Tiger  :-[ ), but you're right, I've just realized there are some problems with the covers when serving from a mac. I'll take care of it for 1.2

Thanks

That would be nice, Alejandro. I have been wondering for some time now why my cover art on some songs appears everywhere -- in iTunes, on the iPod Touch, on other Macs in my network -- except in pulpTunes.
